Implementation of an Automated Data Acquisition System For Electronic Packaging

This research effort deals with the development of a deployment strategy for an automated defect data collection system on an electronics assembly line. It identified key areas to be focused on in the deployment plan by means of a case based approach for implementing a data collection system at an Electronics Manufacturing Service (EMS) provider's facility. In this research, a systems approach has been taken for the development of a deployment strategy. The research effort has addressed the issue of traceability being faced by EMS providers. A software system was designed and developed to enable traceability through system level assemblies.
