Systematic Implementation of A No-Clean Process In A Contract Manufacturing Environment

This research effort focused on systematically implementing a no-clean process in the contract-manufacturing domain. This effort was broken down into four broad categories: solder paste evaluation, no-clean surface mount implementation, no-clean wave soldering implementation, and the development of a decision support system to provide a process sequence for an assembly that falls within the array of assemblies that were evaluated during the process. The knowledge captured from the experiments was collected and analyzed, and was used to provide process guidelines for assemblies falling within the array of assemblies evaluated through a decision support system.
